Where's the instruction book?
As some well-meaning person has probably already told you, children don't come with an instruction manual. The same is true for kids who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or questioning (LGBTQ). Each one will have their own experience navigating childhood and adolescence, they are looking to you for support. Are you ready? I can help you unpack and gear up to create a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for your child.
It's not my kid, it's my...(niece, nephew, neighbor kid down the street, kid on my kid's soccer team, etc..)
This can be a bit more tricky, especially if the child's family is not supportive of their orientation or gender identity. There is always room for supportive adults in a child's life, and I can help you find the right balance based on the situation.
How can they possibly know at this age?
They can, and often, they do. Sometimes you know as well, and sometimes it's a complete surprise. See how incredibly, wonderfully unpredictable parenthood can be?
